Dalva is the first Port shipper to release a Dry White aged Tawny Port over 40 yo. The wine is a blend of several White Ports with a base of very old Ports that have been within Dalva cellars for several decades.
Bright amber color, complex aromas of ripe mandarin, exotic raisins and almonds. Full bodied, with a fresh acidity that gives persistence and elegance to a delayed aftertaste. A fantastic old White Port with very fine notes of citrus and honey, golden raisins, and a sharp acidity that provides an almost madeira-like profile.
Mark Squires (Robert Parker 2015) 94 points: "The 40 Year Old Dry White Port was bottled in 2014. It is a blend of Malvasia Fina, Viosinho and Rabigato, coming in at 61 grams per liter of residual sugar. With just a touch of sweetness on the end, this has a drier feel to it, but also fine depth and big fruit. Coating the mouth beautifully, it is a lovely white Port with fine focus and a sexy finish."
