A Colheita Port is a Tawny Port from a single harvest and is aged for a minimum of 7 years in french oak barrels of approximately 550 liters, called pipas.
Colheita Port represents less than 1% of the total production of Port every year. Whilst it ages, its young, fruity and fresh aromas develop through oxidation to create a bouquet of dried fruit, toasted wood and spices. The wine acquires an increased smoothness and its bouquet becomes more harmonious and complex.
